Dave Harrell - Editor

Dave has written for angling magazines for 20 years. He took over as Editor of Match Fishing magazine in 2004, bringing a wealth of international match fishing experience to the title. He won the Kamasan Matchman Of The Year title in both 1989 and 1992, and has a string of big match successes to his credit in this country and in Europe. He is the only magazine Editor to have represented England at World Championship level, winning gold and silver medals.

Dave created the Midland Angling Products brand in 1990 and is as enthusiastic now as he was when a teenager. His first love is river fishing and he’s a regular winner on rivers such as the Warwickshire Avon, the Severn and the Wye. His favourite match win came in 1992 on the Erne in Northern Ireland where he weighed 166lb of roach!

Jon Arthur - Deputy Editor

Most people know Jon from his highly popular End Peg diary column. In July 2005, after six months as a regular columnist, Jon was snapped up by Dave Harrell to be the magazine's deputy editor. With his dedication and enthusiasm the magazine has undoubtedly gone from strength to strength - the fact that Jon fishes at the highest level and rubs shoulders with the very best match anglers in the country must surely help!

Jon is a pivotal member of the Shakespeare Superteam and, until recently, was perhaps best known for his expertise on canals. In 2006, however, he turned a few heads by breaking into the ultra-competitive commercial match fishing circuit - in what was his best season to date Jon won the prestigious Preston Innovations UK Individual Championship, was the Tunnel Barn Farm Master and also became one of the lucky 16 qualifiers for the Fish 'O' Mania Final filmed live on Sky TV. Jon has since proved that his UK Champs win was no fluke by successfully defending his title in 2007 with a perfect four section wins. The following year Jon managed to qualify for the Fish 'O' Mania Final once again, too!

Outside of fishing, Jon has a BA Hons in Fine Art and a HND in graphic design. Much of the photography in Match Fishing is also Jon's handywork. He has an eclectic taste in music and loves watching anything that makes him laugh on TV.

Every month, Dave, Mark and Jon work together to ensure that Match Fishing is the number one angling magazine for any angler wanting to catch more fish.

Mark Williams - Editorial Assistant

Mark's the Editorial Assistant on Match Fishing magazine, meaning he gets all the jobs no-one else wants to do, like fishing with Steve Ringer, Will Raison and Darren Cox to name drop just a few – it's a dirty job but someone's got to do it!!

Asides from working very hard at the DHP offices, Mark is a keen match angler and has followed his father Maurice into the world of team fishing, having a brief spell at Kamasan Starlets before taking a much more involved role with Browning Central. During his time at Starlets the team won the Winter League Final and Mark fished several Superleague rounds in the team's colours. Now with Browning Central, Mark has regular outings as a key player in the team.

His biggest angling achievements to date are winning the National Junior Angling Association individual national with 12lb of skimmers on the Chesterfield Canal, in addition to catching his first 100lb weight of carp when he was just 16 (setting a new venue record with 136lb in the process). Mark classes bagging carp at Mallory Park and fishing bloodworm on the long pole for roach as his favourite methods of fishing.

Outside of the busy world of angling, Mark plays Rugby Union for Southam RUFC as an outside centre (he's a glory hunter rather than a grafter!). Playing rugby for South Warwickshire at senior level is Mark's biggest claim to fame in this sport.
