Suffolk Water Park Results - 08/03/2010

Saturday 6th March Silver Fish only on the canal Lake

We had 16 fish the match today. The wind was NE going round to the E and 13mph. Pressure was rising to 1029 and it was cold, maximum 4C! Minimum overnight was 1.5C.

When Valerie drew out pag 20 as the golden peg there were more than a few people hoping to draw it!

However the curse of the Golden Peg struck again and Dave Park couldn't get the skimmers to feed very well. He had a few and a lovely perch that must have gone 1lb 8oz at least. There were a lot of carp hooked today, Peter Binks hooked 5 and most people hooked one or two.

• 1st Bob Wessels, Suffolk Water Park/Bait-Tech, on peg 19 had 2 small tench and some skimmers and better roach on caster for 16lb 10oz
• 2nd Dave Park, Elm Park AC, on Golden peg 20 had skimmers a big perch and some roach for 7lb 14oz
• 3rd Peter Binks, Walton on Naze, on peg 8 had a tench and roach for 7lb 3oz
• 4th Aaron Coleman, Suffolk Water Park/Bait-Tech, had skimmers and roach on peg 2 for 6lb 8oz
• 5th Keith Gostling, on peg 1 didn't have so many fish or any skimmers but his better roach on caster went 5lb 0oz
• 6th Colin Provins had a tench and some roach and a skimmer on peg 3 for 4lb 14oz

Sunday 7th March 2010

Only 10 fished. Freezing conditions with an overnight low of -4.1C a maximum daytime of 3.3C a brisk Easterly wind, high pressure and unbroken sunshine memant that the fisahing would always be hard. For the second day running the Golden Peg was in jeorpardy when peg 29 was the last one in the bag when Aaron Coleman came up to the draw.  So close, but the curse struck again and Aaron failed to make it by a mere 9oz!! Only 10 fished.

• 1st Stu Mill, Suffolk Water Park/Bait-Tech, had 2 carp very early on fishing a straight lead and bread on peg 5 for 7lb 8oz
  
• 2nd Aaron Coleman, Suffolk Water Park/Bait-Tech, on peg 29 had slimmers on the tip with a groundbait feeder and red maggot for 6lb 15oz
• 3rd Darren Clarke, Suffolk Water Park/Bait-Tech, on peg 2 had a tench and a big perch for 6lb 6oz
• 4th Richard Watson, Nisa Waveney, on peg 31 had skimmers and 1 bream of 2lb for 5lb 6oz
