Up Close: Maver MX 3500 Seatbox System - 25/02/2010
Without doubt this is the best seatbox system that Maver has ever produced.
For just under £350 you can get an awful lot of top-end box system, including a wheel kit, and the finish and build specifications are exceptional. The box system features square, powder-coated legs and the frame has three spirit-level bubbles to ensure that you get a totally level box to sit on. Many anglers thought these were a gimmick when they first came out on other seatboxes but they’re not, and for people who suffer with back problems they’re a real plus as you can at least start off with the box level. Sitting correctly and holding your pole properly is the next important thing, of course, if you don’t want to end up walking round like the Hunchback of Notre Dame! There is a well-designed side-tray system that clips in with a neat push-button mechanism and there is plenty of storage space in the drawers and trays.
Extras are available in the form of side trays at £19.99, keepnet arms from £6.99, accessory arms at £8.99, umbrella arm at £6.99, spray bar at £29.99, pole-winder tray sets at £12.99 and a pole roost at £29.99.
Verdict: The best seatbox that Maver has produced. We like it a lot.
RRP: £349.99
