LONG TERM TEST: Preston Innovations Mini 10ft Carp Feeder Rod - 26/03/2009
I chose to use a 10ft Preston Mini for the Method and bomb in last year’s Fish ‘O’ Mania Final as well as cage-feeder fishing in my last instructional DVD and both times had 100 per cent confidence in it.
The fact that they bend right through to the butt helps to cushion fish of all sizes and I never worry about the hook pulling out when playing big fish under my feet.
I love the fact that they are two-piece as they neatly fold away yet can be effortlessly assembled in an instant. If you ever suffer from casting inaccuracy I believe short rods will help in this area, too – especially at ranges up to about 40 yards, which makes them pretty handy for almost every carp lake I fish. They are pretty simple in design and perform a vital role for me. In fact, I am so impressed with these rods that I now own two of them!
