Tackle & Guns Show 2009: Daiwa - 21/12/2009
As usual the Daiwa stand was a hive of activity. There were plenty of typically Daiwa, high-quality products ready for 2010 but for us, four products really stood out.
The Tournament Pro X and Connoisseur G20 poles are likely to be as popular as the poles they’re superseding – the Tourney Pro and G8 respectively. Daiwa has worked on a new finish to make the bigger sections slide easier through the hands. Look out for on-the-bank reviews of these poles in coming issues. Also on the stand was the Multi Bore System (MBS) top-kit range. These are equal-length No1 sections with varying bores and the advantage to pole anglers is huge, as they’re exactly the same length top kits for all elastics, with no cutting back required.
Daiwa’s TD-X reels are very impressive; they’re front-drag reels with a push-button, spool-release facility and come in the popular Daiwa sizes – 2508 and 3012. Both reels are available in single and double-handle guises.
