Exclusive World Champs reports from Match Fishing's on-the-bank correspondents.
Italy take gold with England fishing hard but placing fifth after two days of World Champs action.
At the end of the second and final day of the World Champs competition the Italians, so dominant during the event, have taken victory and a gold medal with a total of just 21points - 9 on day one, 12 on day two.
Hungary, third yesterday, have manage to claw their way to silver with Belgium fishing extremely well to take bronze.
England, although looking good early on have placed fifth, behind the Netherlands in fourth.
Individual positions are unconfirmed so far following a extremely tight finish with the top three separated not by points but just a few kilos. However, our man on-the-bank reports Fini of Italy has taken gold with two section wins for 2 points, Milkovics of Hungary silver with another two section wins and 2 points (but a lower overall weight of fish than Fini), and Gabba of Italy receives bronze again on 2 points following another two section wins.
