Any angler passing through Derbyshire's town of Heanor this weekend might have thought they had entered a match angling's whose who, as some of the some of the biggest names in our sport gathered to mark the opening of a brand new tackle shop.
Hundreds of anglers traveled to meet their angling heroes, and have a browse around the new shop should-to-shoulder with the likes of Alan Scotthorne, Sandra Scotthorne, Steve Ringer, Phil Ringer, Tommy Pickering, Denis White, Ricky Teale, Lee Kerry, Matt Godfrey, James Dent and Andy Geldart.
Shop owner, Sam Wildsmith was more than happy with the opening, which was seen by all involved as a brilliant success.
"It was really nice to meet so many anglers, many of whom had traveled a long way to attend the event,"Sam told Match Fishing. "I spoke to people from as far afield as Rugby and Kidderminster, with many also traveling south from Sheffield and Manchester.
"Having spent the last eighteen months trying to get the shop right, it was nice to see all the hardwork come to fruition, with many of the punters telling me it is the best tackle shop that they have ever been in."
