Pole Fishing and Match Fishing magazine's group editor, Jon Arthur, has just joined the impressive Maver Midlands squad along with two more talented signings in the shape of Les Thompson and Jason Brown.
On his new team acquisitions, Maver Midlands' team captain Wayne Mellings commented: "It's great to now have the calibre of top anglers who want to be part of the Maver Midlands squad. It's also fantastic to have the full support from our team sponsors, Maver. Phil Briscoe and Joe Lowe have given me some great guidance over the last four years, and they both have a great team behind them. Although the squad is now reaching the level I want it to be at, I'm still on the lookout for some rising future stars."
Jon Arthur
The 36 year-old all-rounder is Match Fishing and Pole Fishing magazine's group editor and has a string of high profile wins under his belt. The double UK Champion is also a three times Fish O' Mania finalist, a former Winter League Final individual champion and the reigning Wychavon Champion. Jon also finished third in the 2011 Maver Mega Match This Runner's-Up Final event, held at Larford Lakes.
When asked about his move, Jon had this to say: "I'm really excited to be part of the Maver Midlands squad. They are an enthusiastic, forward-thinking team with loads of talented anglers. It was a very tough decision to leave my old Shakespeare Superteam outfit but my own fishing, and team fishing in general, is changing and it just felt like the right time to move on.
"I like the team's attitude and the venues they fish. They have a good mix of youth and experience and everyone seems willing to talk and learn off each other. It's a great feeling to be with a squad that's so keen and motivated".

Jason Brown
Jason has really impressed over the last few seasons and has shown the quality and commitment Maver Midlands are looking for. The former Trabucco VDE member is in great form and has a variety of skills covering both natural and commercial venues. This year has seen Jason move from canal fishing, demonstrating his ability to adapt to different styles of fishing and enjoying some fantastic results in the process in both the Heronbrook and Tunnel Barn Farm winter leagues.
Jason commented: "I'm very excited to be part of the Maver Midlands squad and I'm looking forward to working with new team mates and developing my skills."

Les Thompson
Les has been given full approval from his individual sponsor, Matrix, to be part of Maver Midlands. Les has lots of experience in team fishing having been a member of the Shakespeare Supeteam and Drennan North West. Les has an enviable reputation and a wealth of experience on the open circuit having been a former Fish 'O' Mania finalist and Angling Trust Masters Champion.
Les, who has been very close to some of the Maver Midlands squad over many years, had this to say: "With the way Wayne has built the team up over the last few years, no angler would not want to be part of it. I've made the decision to come back into full team fishing and give the support that I'm sure I can deliver and help Wayne and the team get the full recognition and rewards they deserve."
