Maver-backed youngster makes line up to represent his country in World Champs.
Maver's Geraint Powell has been selected to feature in this year's under 23 Welsh National squad and will represent his country in the World Championships taking place in Slovenia in July.
Geraint was selected after a great performance during a recent trial match hosted on the burr bank of Larford's match lake. The young match ace earned his place in this year's team after jostling for position against some of the best young match anglers in the country, including the likes of Matthew Powell, Andrew Mann and Dan Driscoll.
Geraint fished maggot over groundbait at 11m targeting the resident skimmer bream whilst feeding corn and casters short to bag some bonus F1s to boost his weight.
On the back of his Welsh selection for the World Championships, Geraint has also earned his place within the Welsh squad that has been selected for the Junior Celtic Cup taking place on Inniscarra Lough, near Cork in the Republic of Ireland in August.
