Estimates put England in front for day two with just over an hour to go.
The England team could well be leading the second day of the World Feeder Champs following a blistering performance from its five anglers.
With the Ukrainians faltering due to two low section positions and the Belgians also doing badly, it’s really just the Hungarians and the Dutch that England has to contend with for a second day victory.
“If I’ve got my numbers right then I put England in front,” England coach Glen Lawrence told Match Fishing. “The trouble is that this is a late venue which fishes better as the day goes on so it could all change in the last hour.”
Based on rough figures, if Ukraine and Belgium are out of the running, from Day One’s scorings England would need to win the second day with a lead of at least seven points if Hungary came second and six if the Dutch came second to bring home the gold.
