Report: Twenty anglers turned up to fish the final two matches of the NSW SCAC league on Canberra’s lake Burley Griffiths recently. The night temperatures had dropped to - 3 for most of the week previously as we are now going into winter in Australia. The day time temps reached up in the high teens with bright sunshine and little wind. With the top 6 places overall in the league all within enough points to take the overall place it was going to be a close for the two days.
Day 1 Winner Maurice Farnell drew the deepest peg on the section and caught small carp steady all day on the pole with corn to weigh in 33 kgs. Steve Scott was second with 19 kgs ,catching on both the feeder and pole and managed to jump to top place in the league after today’s results and was leading by 1 point. Danny Brown was third today with 12 kgs
