I managed to draw Peg 9 on the Shakespeare match and although a good area for section points it generally isn’t good enough to win the match.
I chose to fish for roach for the first three hours and apart from about 50 tiny fish, my match was no going well. With £6,000 up for grabs I made the decision to sit for a barbel as I was never going to win a penny with roach! Needless to say I didn’t snare a barbel but luckily enough my sharing partner and man on fire – Lee Kerry produced yet another fantastic performance to take third on the day and add £1000 to the kitty – Good times!
The following day I hadn’t qualified for the Wychavon so decided to nip home to my native Yorkshire to catch up with my family. This was cut short though when my van decided to blow up on the M42 heading north! It was terminal too and the silver bullet is no more! This also stopped me from fishing the Monday’s team match, which I was really gutted about!
All in all then, it wasn’t the best weekend for me!
On a lighter note we have just been putting the finishing touches to the October issue and I can tell you that we have a great issue up our sleeves for you! Make sure you don’t miss it!
