The angling world is in mourning this week, as two stars of the sport have passed away. These are multiple Drennan Cup winner Terry Lampard, and match fishing legend, Don Slaymaker. We have tributes from their friends inside.
In more cheery news, Gareth Goldson has broken his personal best chub with a 7lb 13oz specimen. In an incredible session on the Great Ouse, he took a string of massive fish – including two over 7lb and one over 6lb!
There is good news from Europe, where it has been agreed that the old policy allowing fish to be discarded at sea is to be scrapped. In future, where fish are caught unnecessarily, they are to be returned alive, or come out of that Country’s quota – which is good news for recreational sea anglers!
From the match fishing world, we have the story of Sammie Perkins 97lb carp haul from Leicestershire’s Makins Fishery, and all the dates and venues for this years Preston Innovations UK Angling Championship.
Feature wise, we join Paul Bick for a canal fishing masterclass, learn as Mark Coulson solves two very common carp fishing problems, and enjoy a day at sea with England International, Ray Barron. Plus, there is the usual host of tackle reviews, catch reports and blogs. What more can you ask for just 69p?
