Albutt's Adventure

Matrix ace takes on top Midland venue.
One of the country's top anglers, Grant Albutt, has taken on prolific Midlands water, Shatterford Lakes.

Situated in a valley on the Bridgnorth Road (A442) only 10 minutes from Kidderminster and Stourbridge, Shatterford Lakes was established in 1972, and over the years has developed into a great specimen and match type venue.

Grant explained: "When the opportunity arose to take on Shatterford, I knew I had to take it. It is a breathtakingly beautiful place that is absolutely stuffed with fish. It was one of those chances I just knew I had to take, and I am already enjoying getting stuck in.

One of the things that I love the most about Shatterford it is the fact that it is so diverse - it contains a large head of specimen carp to over 40lb, some giant catfish, and specimen roach and bream. In addition to the above, I have two match type lakes that I plan to hire out to clubs, that will offer great sport on lighter tackle.

There is also a shop on site, and a luxury house which will be turned into holiday accommodation, giving anglers both in this country and abroad the chance to stay in comfort while fishing the lakes."
