This 10ft two-piece rod is a wonderful commercial-fishery tool at a great price. The rod screams quality and the minimalist graphics and classy fixtures and fittings are pleasing to the eye. As far as performance goes this is up there with the best. It has a beautiful through action that will not only be great for carp but will also be suited to bream and skimmer work at short range.

I have no problem telling you that I was initially sceptical about Old Ghost. It was a range of products that I saw last October at the Tackle & Guns Trade Show. But, up until the end of June this year, I’d not seen any of it in the flesh! The fact that you couldn’t get hold of the product after such hype, and the uncertainty over how yet more ‘foreign’ baits would be received, were the sources of my scepticism. I didn’t even think it would make it to UK soil, but it’s here!As with any new firm there is, no doubt, a battle lying ahead of the China-based bait giant if it’s to make an impact.

The original pellet feeders are among the best fish catchers around and now these micro versions look to continue that. They have been designed to hold just a small amount of feed and are ideal for short, tidy chucks where a small amount of bait is required. We really like these and can see a multitude of uses for them. RRP: From £1.

The England Ladies steamed to victory this weekend, taking gold in the World Championship held on the River Sava in Radece, Slovenia. The event involved 18 teams and after day one the England Ladies were lying in eighth place, but only 12 points away from gold in an incredibly tight frame. Winning the event, however, came as a big surprise as the team thought they were out of contention before the weigh-in on day two. Their unpredicted score of just 18 penalty points won the second day, though, and pushed them to the top of the podium overall.
