I have been very impressed with Marukyu bait over the past two years and have had some very memorable days when using the stuff.
This bait, however, is something completely different to what Marukyu has produced before in that it is specifically designed to target silver fish.
I have been fortunate enough to be involved with this mix before it was released. I have used it on several occasions after Roy Marlow showed it to me on a feature I shot with him several months ago. At the time it was a very rough diamond but now it has been tweaked to be perfect for the job in hand.
The mix itself is a fine green groundbait with a unique and distinctive aroma. It certainly works and whenever I have tried it the results have been superb. For some reason tench in particular seem to like the mix, and during my day with Roy he had over 15 tench on the Glebe’s Pretty Fish Pool. This was a bit strange, however, as there are hardly ever any tench caught! The mix seems to catch the strongest species in your peg so if you are on a lot of skimmers you’ll mainly catch them, and the same for crucians and roach.
You may be wondering whether you will catch carp with the mix and yes you will, as they also love the stuff!
The one key thing, though, is that the mix also works well on natural waters. Marukyu consultant Pete Marlow has been using it to devastating effect on his local River Soar.
This mix will be released around Easter 2013 and is sure to be a very popular groundbait. It has many uses and I for one will be using this bait a lot in 2013.
