Welcome to my first blog entry as I’ve now returned to Match Fishing magazine as editor, after leaving just over 7 years ago.

From the September issue onwards I’ll be at the helm with the highly respected Joe Carass as my wingman. I’ll be making some considerable changes to the magazine and you’ll see the return of some faces who’ve not appeared in MF for a while.

So what’ve I been up to over the last few weeks?...Well aside from resigning from GURU, based in Essex, and moving back up to the Midlands I’ve been busy with family life, theme parks, foot spa’s, finding a new house and I did even have time for a spot of match fishing at Boddington Reservoir in a BWB Champs qualifier.

The lake was well down leaving around three to four feet of water at the deepest part. It fished hard despite the fact you could see cruising fish everywhere; I finished with 5 carp for 33lb and a few ounces which wasn’t enough to qualify for the lucrative final. I have got another shot at getting in that final though as I’ll be fishing at Clattercote Reservoir at the end of this month...I’ll keep you posted on it.

For now work on the September issue must continue and don’t forget August’s issue will be on sale very soon...the 29th of July to be exact.
