This neat and compact system allows longer than average hooklengths to be stored with ease. The box contains eight of the spools, with each capable of holding up to 10 hooklengths. The line clip is also a clever idea and allows the hooklengths to be always stored under tension. RRP: £14.

Browning poles really are fantastic and this latest mid-range offering truly is superb. Handling at the full 14. 5 metres is brilliant and its rigidity is likened to a pole of a much higher value. Browning’s reputation with poles is constantly growing and with models such as this it is easy to see why.

Get In A Frenzee! Joe Carass gets to grips with the Frenzee FMR 3000 reel. Reels don’t seem to have changed much in the last few years. For sure they have got better and also much cheaper, but fundamentally they all revolve around the same principles. I suppose the biggest shift was when modern commercial anglers started using front-drag reels instead of the previously popular rear-drag offerings.

World Champ wins on British soil. Didier Delannoy proved exactly why he is World Champion this week, after winning a match in England whilst on a business trip over here! The Rive backed ace travels over to England on a yearly basis, and stops with his good friend, and five times former World Champion, Alan Scotthorne, to do a bit of fishing, and service the UK’s Rive accounts. Whilst over here this time, Didier decided to drop on a Sensas International rules match, at Hayfield Lakes near Doncaster. With England Internationals, Alan Scotthorne and Lee Kerry in attendance, both of whom know the venue well, it was never going to be an easy battle to win.
