Fenland ace is Winter Festival king!Bait-Tech-backed rod, Lee Klimczuk has won the 2013 Garbolino Winter Festival at White Acres Fishery in Cornwall. The event, which was this year contested by 71 of the country's best silverfish anglers, is unique because normal carp don't count – meaning that weights are dominated by skimmers, roach, brown goldfish and F1s. As expected, the fishing proved exceptional, with numerous 50lb-plus individual weights being recorded throughout the five-day festival. Lee, who has long been regarded as a top allround anglers since his days with the mighty Essex County squad, won the event with a perfect score of four section wins, dropping a third.

Browning poles really are fantastic and this latest mid-range offering truly is superb.
Handling at the full 14. 5 metres is brilliant and its rigidity is likened to a pole of a much higher value. Browning’s reputation with poles is constantly growing and with models such as this it is easy to see why.
Yet another superb pole from the guys at Tri-Cast. The Iconic uses the same technology as the fearsome Trilogy Pro 2 that we rated so highly.
Packed with features and supplied with a great spares package, the Iconic Pro is a super-stiff pole with bags of strength. Well worth checking out!RRP: £1,549.
Get In A Frenzee! Joe Carass gets to grips with the Frenzee FMR 3000 reel. Reels don’t seem to have changed much in the last few years.
