22 year old angler enjoys incredible run of form. When it comes to winning big matches, 21 year old James Dent must be among the most in form angler in the country. The Teesside based MAP and Marukyu backed rod explained: “I am really enjoying my fishing at the minute, and things just seem to be going right for me.

Two running water aces clash in epic video feature!Over the last few years, no angler has won more money on running water than Shakespeare Superteam ace, Tony Marshall. The Loughborough rod has built up a fearsome reputation for catching big weights of roach, skimmers perch and eels – with many claiming him to be the most in form river angler in the Country. With an equally enviable flowing water record is fellow Shakespeare ace James Robbins. Although James has taken some pretty impressive results on the pole, it is his running line skills that he is famed for – having won some of river fishing’s biggest trophies on the waggler, stickfloat and feeder.

Anglers secure agreement for safe relocation of 'Keith' the Severn Seal The Angling Trust has announced that it will not be pursuing an application to Natural England for a licence to shoot the Severn seal, following the conclusion of an agreement with the British Divers Marine Life Rescue service which will see both organisations working together to relocate the mammal back to the sea, protecting vulnerable freshwater fish stocks. A press release from the Angling Trust explained: "The longer the seal remains away from its natural habitat, the greater the risk of it coming to harm from eating food thrown to it by the public or being injured by lock gates or boat propellers. Recent drops in river levels have improved the prospects of the animal either being rescued, or heading out to sea. The Angling Trust said that it felt that it had little choice but to consider reluctantly securing a licence in response to requests by local clubs and anglers and after the Environment Agency and Natural England failed to take any action whatsoever to manage the situation, despite ongoing and severe damage to the rivers stocks by the marine mammal.

Venue owner, Gary Jubb dons wetsuit to break the ice!Top match angler, and former England International, Gary Jubb has built up a fearsome reputation on the bank – but it is more his actions in the water that have been creating a stir over the last few days. He is employed as manager at Barnburgh Lakes near Doncaster, and was keen that ice shouldn’t stop play for anglers brave enough to journey to his fishery in the latest bout of bad weather. “I have had training as a diver, and am lucky enough to own all the equipment – including a full thermal wetsuit – so even though the water was freezing I was lovely and warm. It is a great way to break the ice when it is thick, as you can chip away at it with a hammer if necessary.
