Over night temperatures had fallen to -2degC and there was a new fall of snow to greet the anglers that had turned out for this weeks Bagem Matchbaits Individual match at Dog Lane Napton.

The winner this week came from corner peg 6 where Dick Ashby of Banbury Gunsmiths found a selection of billies for 6lb 15oz and also the biggest perch prize with one of two specimens weighing 2lb 4oz 12dr caught on worm and pinkie.

Second place went Carl Hulley of Daventry AC who this week found himself weighing in a catch of 4lb 1oz 4dr of roach and orfe from peg9 caught on bread.

Third placed Gil Corns also of Daventry AC on peg 3 was only ounces behind his pairs partner with a catch of 3lb 14oz 4dr again using bread.

Despite the chill most spirits remained bright and breezy throughout the match except for one brief moment when minutes from the start anglers feared for their safety as Paul 'tsunami' Malin hit the water at peg 10, completing a graceful forward roll with a tuck from the top of his box for an average score of 9.5 . Thankfully Paul was able to safely make it to the bank and manfully carried on after setting up a mobile laundry and finding some drier clothes.
