Lake 4 Monk Lakes Kent | 12th May 2012
Number of pegs/anglers: 14
Report: A small club match on Lake 4 at Monk Lakes produced below average weights after a couple of days of rain and cooler nights.
The winner caught tight to the nearside bank in about 2 feet of water on 6mm pellet and also had early success on the pellet waggler at about 20 metres, catching plenty of carp to 3lb all day.
Highlight of the day though was the 43lb 06 catfish caught by Ian McGregor while fishing the method on permanent peg 162 (pictured below).
The fish was hooked on 6mm pellet and landed on 8lb Ultima Power Plus main line to 5lb Reflo hook length and a size 14 Preston PR21 hook. After photographs the fish was released into the Specimen Lake.
