Ninety eight (98) anglers attended the second and final Mega Match This qualifier event at Heronbrook Fisheries of the 2016 campaign. Conditions on the day were ideal with temperatures remaining mild coupled with plenty of cloud cover. Fishing on the day was, as per usual, of a high standard with very little separating second place through to eighth place. It was Meadow that produced the majority of the top weights on the day with the winner, Adam Richards, leaving the rest of the field trailing in his wake.

Adam (Browning) drew peg 26 on Meadow and fished the majority of his match up in the water with pellet to find both carp to 5lbs and F1s in numbers to weigh in a final 198-13-00.

Preston man Frankie Gianoncelli finished in second place - the second time he finished runner-up in a Mega Match This qualifier this year - with 151-07-00. Frankie drew peg 16 on Meadow and also fished pellet shallow to find carp and F1s to effectively qualify for the Maver British Pole Championship final for a second time.

Third on the day was Matthew Dawes (Drennan North West). Matt drew peg 21 on Meadow and, like Adam and Frankie, fished pellet up in the water to find carp. Matt also fished pellet long across to the far bank to find bonus golden tench to end the match with 150-02-00 and a place in this year's British Pole Championships.
