In spite of pleasant weather Avon Lake (Dynamite Makins) generally fished hard and although every competitor caught carp about a third did not bother to weigh in.

Venue expert Charlie Shaw (Fishermanea Derby) on peg 3 caught carp from his margins early and on long pole late on, and kept the fish interested by alternating meat and corn to total 68-08 for a clear win.

Runner up John Adamson (Kobra Feeders) on peg 9 landed just 6 carp on pole and pellet for 31-04, edging out ‘Mr consistent’ Dave Hicken (Disco) who landed 29-08 from peg 1 fishing corn in the margins.
