 Kobra Wednesday Open

1 Sam Brown (Dynamite Makins) 176-06
2 John Adamson (Kobra Feeders) 130-04
3 Charlie Shaw (Derby Fishermania) 65-08
4 John Oldham (Makins) 60-04
5 Terry Phillips (Attleborough Sports) 40-8-0

On a day of strong winds, sunny periods and showers, most of the 19 anglers fishing the Wednesday KOBRA Open on Lake Two (Dynamite Makins) struggled to put a weight together, the top two being exceptions.

Sam Brown (Dynamite Makins) on peg A20 started on pellet waggler and caught smallish carp steadily from the start.  In the latter stages he switched to pole along the margins with corn on the hook and landed several bigger samples to lift his weight to a winning 176-06.

On peg B17, after very little on method feeder in the first two hours, John Adamson (Kobra Feeders), switched to pole and pellet to land seven bream and a small carp for about 30-00 quite quickly.  This line died and he switched back to method feeder to land 15 carp in the last two hours to total 130-04 for second place.

Charlie Shaw (Derby Fishermania) took third place with 65-08 by alternating between method feeder and pole, John Oldham (Makins) came home in fourth with 60-04 taken mainly on bomb and pellet.

The Wednesday KOBRA Open on 29th August will be on Makins Phase 3 (Avon and Derwent), with Lake Two being used for the Thursday KOBRA Open on 30th August.  The following week all returns to normal – Wednesday matches on Lake Two and Thursday matches on Phases 2 or 3.

NB.  KOBRA Opens are at Dynamite Makins every Wednesday throughout 2012, 10 am draw.
