A near-sell out field produced one hundred and seventeen (117) anglers on this final Decoy Lakes qualifier. The standard of fishing was, once again, excellent with every single one of the top eight placed anglers on the day weighing in well over one hundred pounds.

Making his way through to next month's Match This final was Adam Playford. The young Norfolk-based rod drew peg 29 on Beastie and fishing long and short pole with caster before looking down his edge late on to find quality carp to 10lbs for a massive 208-09-00 and a comfortable victory.

Booking his place in this year's British Pole Championship final alongside Adam was Andrew Szczupak. Andrew drew neighbouring peg 24 on Beastie and fished pellet short at 5m before switching to his margins during the closing stages of the match to end the day with 170-11-00.

Daiwa's Andy Bailey had to settle for third place on the day after being knocked back on two of his nets, ultimately costing him a place in the Match This final! Andy fished from peg 23 on Beastie and caught on caster up in the water to record an official weight of 164-02-00 instead of the 219-10-00 he offered to the scales.
