Sherwood Forest Fishery Midweek

Two wins on the trot for Lee Payling as Holmedale sees the two ton weights taken in Wednesday's match.

Daz Stakey had a compfortable win midweek. Alternating between the scoop feeder with pellet cast to the island and the pole and meat fished at 11m and down the margin he kept the fish coming, with carp up to 7lb being bought to his peg 21. Next to him the fishery owner Mick Langton had a bad middle of the match, loosing 10 carp in a row. Although fishing the pole and meat and the method feeder and meat cast to the island he still managed to bank carp to 9lb.

Winner Lee Payling fished the pole and caster for 36lb of skimmers and Ide to 1lb in the match, changing to his baited margin swim late in the match for 7 carp, his biggest being a 15lb 7oz ghostie on the pole and corn, making it 2 wins in two days. Second placed Dave Round also fished the pole and caster out and corn down the margin having 30lb of Ide and the rest of his net made up of carp to 3lb.

Lee Payling drew what is considered to be the best day time peg at the fishery, peg 20 in the shallow bay and casting a small pellet feeder into the corner with meat and pellet hookbait he took full advantage, landing 26 carp to 7lb. The haul saw him weigh just short of the ton, but 5lb in front of second place Pete Hodgetts. Pete drew peg 53, not a flyer but he turned it into one. Fishing the pole and his favorite red meat he landed 32 carp to 7lb.
