Welsh Federation Of Coarse Anglers Veterans National Championship

The strong field was greeted with a strong and variable wind which made presentation difficult at times at the Monmouth fishery.

Welsh Federation of Coarse Anglers Veterans National Championship
Red Hill Fishery, Monmouth | Number of pegs/anglers: 40

The winner on the Day was local man, Tony Summers (Cardiff Nomads) with an excellent weight of 91lb 8oz taken from the middle of the lake on 14 metre pole. Tony finished almost 20lbs clear of the field and is enjoying a good run of results at the prolific Red Hill venue. Earlier in the month he had finished runner-up in the Senior Welsh National. Tony caught most of his fish this time at full depth on maggot over pellet feed. Peter Meese of Glamorgan Anglers, used the method-feeder to secure himself runner-up spot with 71lb 7oz from peg 37. On the opposite bank, third placed Jon Taylor again of Glamorgan Anglers took his fish on worm. The two section winners were Brian Prothero who just missed out on third place, and Howard Green.
