Strong South Westerly winds greeted the anglers at Dog Lane this week and two poles suffered the swirling gusts as everyone struggled to keep things still long enough for the fish to bite.

Dave 'Westy' West (Daventry AC) drew peg 8, one of the few sheltered pegs, and presenting worm at 13m caught some 2lb perch and an Orfe of 4lb 12oz. This put him nearly three pounds clear of second placed angler Rob 'Game Over' Cash who was on peg 36. Rob weighed in 8lb 5oz of billies and orfe, the largest going 2lb 4oz which was not enough to claim the big perch prize for a change.

Third place went to Keith 'Crusty' Taylor who again showed his prowess on the punch. This time on peg 27, where at one point he was motoring with a 'netter fish' a chuck. Well that is, until the hour that the sun came round and blinded his swim. This spell most likely cost him a higher placing, but 7lb 12oz 12dr was a busy day roach fishing.

Best Perch of the day went to Graham Cheney from peg 35 with a nice 2lb 6oz 8dr fish.
