Winter league action on the river Isle hots up.

This week saw Ilminster AA members start their V.E.S. Precision sponsored Winter League on the River Isle. Conditions were bright and sunny and coupled with a very low and clear river the weights were down on last week. Club secretary Pete Lonton got his league off to a great start winning with two chub plus some small fish for 7lb 7oz from peg 124. It was also a 'Golden Peg' so Pete had a bumper payday. Neil Dring was second with 5lb 4oz from peg 83, his catch was mainly small fish. Joint third were Martin Heard and Graham Field who both had 4lb 7oz. The top section was won by Justin Charles with 4lb from peg 106 and Jamie Rich won the other section with 3lb 4oz from peg 125.
Next week is round two of the Royal Oak league and the draw is at the pub between 8:30 and 9:00.
