Strong winds make thing tricky at Sherwood, but still the ton bags keep coming.
Holmedale Lake Wednesday 14/9/1122 fished Due of the strong winds on the day event winner John Darby opted to fished the pole short at 5m with meat over pellet at peg 39. It was a decision that saw him catch all match, landing carp to 10lb to amass the only ton of the competition with a level 118lb. Second placed Roy Butterfield also fished the pole but with corn out at 7m and down both margins for carp to 7lb, just heading off the tight completion behind him with 84lb 7oz.
Cold conditions saw low weights as the fish switched off at Sherwood.

In top spot Carl Brown fished the pole and pellet out at 11 and 14m from peg 27, landing 18 carp to 6lb, all caught in the last 2 hours. Second place went to Worksop’s Andy Lakey.

Great fishing as all competitors got on the scales with some cracking weights.
Sherwood Forest Fishery Weekend match Holmedale Lake Sunday 23/10/11 23 Fished The weekend competition turned out to be a cracking match, with all anglers weighing in and 52lb 7oz being the lowest section-winning weight. Andy Lakey is doing nothing wrong at the moment, drawing peg 24 he was into fish from the off on the pole and pellet fished out on two lines at 13m to land 21 carp up to 8lb in his 109lb 6oz net. Second placed Ben Holmes must have had over 60 carp in the net, catching on the pole and pellet he landed stockies to 3lb.

Holmedale Lake Wednesday 26/10/1124 fished Another very cold start to the match but it didn’t seem to bother the carp Andy drew the bore hole peg 31 fishing with the pole and pellet up in the water and on the deck he landed 34 carp – 10lb for a grand total of 115lb 6oz. In second place Nigel was coursing the loss of two double figure carp late in the match that he says would have won him the match, fishing the pole out with pellet and down the margin with corn he managed to land carp – 12lb in his net of 94lb 2oz. Results for Holmedale Lake match on Sunday November 6. Holmedale Lake Sunday 6/11/11 21 Fished Winner Kev Chaplin fished the pole and pellet down the margin at peg 21 on the edge of the big bay. Feeding very little he landed a dozen carp up to 8lb to give him s winning weight of 59lb 12oz. In second place Steve Keyworth fished the pole and pellet long up to the island for a carp nearly every put in, landing 51lb 6oz with his biggest fish going just 2lb.

7 teams of eight lined up to fish the second round of the Superleague on the Huntspill between Gold Corner and past the Clapper and the venue fished quite consistently with plenty of Bream, skimmers, eels and Roach to be caught. River Huntspill – Gold Corner to the Clapper (56 pegs). Winner on the day was Kev Perry (Sensas Thyers) who was pegged below Woolavington bridge and caught tight across on the feeder on maggots and worms to take Bream to 4lb and weigh in 49-12. Second was Dave Micklewright (Maver Bathampton) who caught Bream to 3lb on the feeder from peg 60 above Woolavington.
Good action in the first two matches in the South West Winter League with some superb weights netted.
